Example:
A business team wants to make a number of changes in their marketing effort.
Scenarios are developed using the business’s latest Living Blueprint, which should represent the current state of the business (the current marketing strategy). A number of alternatives are examined, including likely response from competitors if the marketing strategy were to be changed.
Conclusions drawn from these scenarios and support information are presented to management for approval of the proposed changes. In many cases management will request that additional scenarios be examined.
The changes are made and results obtained are compared with the archived scenario results. Unexpected differences are rationalized and the business’s Living Blueprint is upgraded to account for these differences.
